Rehabilitation is the act of restoring something to its original state. The noun rehabilitation comes from the Latin prefix re-, meaning “again” and habitare, meaning “make fit.”
Vestibular and Concussion Rehabilitation (balance, dizziness, vertigo & headaches)
This is a recent addition to our services. Kristen Riley has completed her Vestibular Certification through Emory University and Lori Janzen has completed her Vestibular Certification through the American Institute of Balance. We are working closely with local Physicians and Specialists (ENT's, Audiologists, Optometrists) to provide comprehensive rehabilitation services which include treatment for:
Chronic pain management
Chronic pain is ongoing or recurrent pain, lasting beyond the usual course of acute illness or injury which adversely affects a person's well-being. More simply stated by the International Association for the Study of Pain (IASP 2004), chronic or persistent pain is pain that continues when it should not.
We understand that persistent pain makes it difficult to participate in even the simplest daily activities. We offer comprehensive treatment plans, tailored to your individual condition/diagnosis as well as your goals. We have helped people with Myofascial Pain Syndrome, Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome, Fibromyalgia and Neuropathic Pain Syndromes. We have the clinical experience utilizing a variety of techniques including gentle exercise-based activation, aquatic therapy, manual therapy, acupuncture (medical and GTT techniques), myofascial release techniques as well as Yoga and mindfulness therapies.
