About Cedar River Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre
Cedar River Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre (CRPRC) has provided physiotherapy, rehabilitation and consulting services to Terrace and the surrounding communities for 20 years. Our skilled professionals offer you a variety of treatment methods to help you recover from injury, pain or illness as well as restore and maintain optimal mobility and health.
Founded in 1997, by Mallory Glustien and Lori Janzen, CRPRC is committed to evidence based best practice to provide you with the most up-to-date treatment options. Our therapists are committed to professional development and support research through our sponsorship of the Physiotherapy Foundation of Canada. Our Physiotherapists work collaboratively with family physicians, surgeons, radiologists and various specialists to optimize and enhance the healthcare of our patients. Our mandate in managing your health is referring to other health care providers as necessary, in your best interest. Our therapists are clinical educators and mentors of Physiotherapy and Medical students through our association with UNBC’s Northern Cohort, and the University of British Columbia Faculty of Medicine and School of Physical Therapy. NEW "NORMAL" REQUIREMENTS |
We are continuing to require that we all wear masks in the clinic...We continue to require that all patients wear masks in the clinic. All Physiotherapist wear masks and office staff will wear masks when they move from behind the plexiglass desk.
Thank you for your compliance with this. |
Dear friends of CRPRC,
Cedar River Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Centre has put many specific protocols and guidelines continue to provide safe in-person treatments. Based on recommendations from our federal and provincial governments, as well as those of our professional regulatory bodies we will continue to require people to wear medical masks for the duration of each appointment.

The above webpage contains specific information regarding social gatherings and events, restaurants and bars, athletic activities, mask requirements, travel advisory and enforcement. Please take the time to read and understand these restrictions and how they are relevant to your current activities as well as those activities of people within your "bubble".
The following advisory regarding masks is taken directly from the above web-page.
Wearing masks in public indoor settings is not required by public health. Wearing a mask is a personal choice.
Masks are encouraged, but not required, when travelling by air, train, public transit or BC Ferries.
Individual businesses and event organizers can choose to continue requiring masks on their premises. It’s important that we respect the choices of people, businesses and one another.
You must wear a mask in all health care settings, like vaccine clinics and hospitals.
Please note, if you feel any of the following symptoms, prior to your appointment, please contact us immediately:
If you have been travelling within Canada please check the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) regarding potential COVID-19 Public Exposures (see below). You can review possible domestic flight exposures and if you are within the potential exposure range, please get tested and wait for 2 weeks prior to attending an in-person appointment. If you have travelled outside of Canada or come to Canada from another country please self-isolate for the recommended 14 days prior to attending in-person physiotherapy.

Here is what you can expect from us in the clinic:
Screening
You will be required to fill out a screening questionnaire online prior to your appointment time.
If you are experiencing any symptoms at all, it is very important for everyone’s safety that you reschedule your appointment immediately.
Scheduling
Our physiotherapists are currently working a reduced schedule to limit the number of individuals passing through the clinic.
We have also modified our schedules to reduce waiting times and patient overlap, and to allow for enhanced cleaning measures between appointments.
Clinic Space
Specific COVID-19 signage has been placed around the clinic - please respect our new policies and procedures.
Physical distancing measures have been implemented, and plexiglass has been installed at the front desk.
We have thoroughly cleaned and de-cluttered the clinic in order to minimize contact surfaces.
All surfaces have been cleaned and sanitized.
All rooms will be cleaned and sanitized after each patient interaction.
All equipment will be cleaned and sanitized after each use.
Practitioners
All physiotherapists will be wearing masks. Based on recent public health guidelines regarding masks we will be wearing three layer medical masks.
Physiotherapists will not be wearing gloves, unless for specific treatments such as acupuncture or intramuscular stimulation/dry needling.
All physiotherapists will respect 2 metres (6 feet) physical distancing measures unless deemed necessary for assessment and/or treatment.
Here is what we are requesting of you:
Punctuality
Please arrive to your scheduled appointment ON TIME (not early, not late).
This is critical to avoid unnecessary congestion in our waiting area, and to avoid patient overflow or overlap.
Respect Signage/Procedures
Please adhere to all posted signs and policies.
This includes hand sanitization and hand washing upon arrival and at departure.
Appropriate Clothing/Footwear
Please remove outdoor footwear/outerwear; you may bring specific indoor footwear to use.
NO BARE FEET PLEASE.
Please also come prepared by wearing appropriate clothing so the body part/region of interest may be exposed - physios need to see the area of focus in order to adequately assess/treat it (i.e. a tank top for shoulder injuries, shorts for knees/hips, etc.)
PPE
All patients are required to wear a MEDICAL mask upon entry into the clinic, and for the entire duration of their appointment.
Masks will be available at the front desk if you need one.
Payment
We will be processing payments “touchless” as much as we can.
Credit cards can be linked to your online account for easy, automatic transactions.
E-transfers will be another option.
Other things to note:
We strongly suggest that you bring minimal “stuff” with you into the clinic, and avoid touching anything after you wash your hands when arriving.
Please leave everything you can at home or in your vehicle to avoid any inconvenience.
We do encourage you to bring your own water bottle if you will be exercising, or have water available in your vehicle for after your appointment (drinking glasses will no longer be provided at this time).
IMPORTANT TO NOTE:
We will be continuing to offer Telehealth/Tele-rehabilitation services.
In many cases, Telehealth will still be an appropriate option for physiotherapy appointments.
Telehealth is also strongly recommended for any patients that are considered high risk; including the elderly, or anyone with high blood pressure, heart disease, lung disease, diabetes, cancer or compromised immune systems from a medical condition or treatment, such as chemotherapy.
If you’re unsure if Telehealth or an in-clinic appointment is most appropriate for you, please call or email us.
Or if you simply prefer this modality, please let us know!
Thank you for your attention to these details and your ongoing patience.
